MILC has a mission to ensure that persons with disabilities are full social, civic and economic partners, both within their families and in a fully accessible community, while creating access and choice.  Any person with a disability or older adult who may benefit from MILC services or program is eligible regardless of disability, race, color, religion, sex or national origin.

Arc of Maui County promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We actively support programs and services that assure full inclusion and participation in the community throughout life.  They also offer residential services, waiver services, and vocational services.

The Maui Bus paratransit service is an advance reservation, curb-to-curb service for persons with disabilities who are unable to use the regular fixed route Maui Bus service. Please call or visit the MEO website for more information.

Some students, for unknown reasons, have difficulty receiving and processing information.  We have worked for over 40 years with children diagnosed with a long list of “Learning Disabilities”. Learning disabilities are so specialized (and misdiagnosis is so common), we recommend the first session at Education Therapy be used for diagnostic testing by one of our learning specialists.

Aloha Independent Living Hawaii (AILH) is a grass roots 501 ©(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to provide independent living programs and services for persons with disabilities in Hawaii.  AILH was founded by a group of experienced, committed and dedicated professionals who wanted to give persons with disabilities in Hawaii the choice of where to receive independent living services. The majority of board members and staff are persons with disabilities.

The mission of the HDRC is to protect and promote the human, civil and legal rights of individuals with disabilities through the provision of information and advocacy.

The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) provides services to Hawai’i community members who experience barriers to employment due to a physical or cognitive disability. DVR is designed to assist job seekers with disabilities prepare, secure, and retain competitive employment in an integrated work setting.

Children with Special Health Needs Branch (CSHNB) is working to assure that all children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) will reach optimal health, growth, and development, by improving access to a coordinated system of family-centered health care services and improving outcomes, through systems development, assessment, assurance, education, collaborative partnerships, and family support.

Special education is specially designed instruction, related services and other supplementary aids to meet the unique needs of a student with a disability at no cost to families. The Department provides these services to anyone aged 3 to 22 who demonstrates a need for specially designed instruction, after an eligibility determination.

Autism Bridges Maui is a non-profit organization founded in Hawai‘i by parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Our goals are to:  Support a network to a wide array of services to individuals with ASD, Pervasive Developmental Delay, and other neurological disorders; Provide support and educational opportunities to their families and caregivers; Grow public awareness and sensitivity in our community.
